Why Lumen Solar
Careful design before the install, and aftercare once it's up
Most installers in Ireland offer broadly similar equipment. Where they differ is the design work before it goes up, and who looks after it afterwards.

Eight reasons
What we do differently
None of these are unique to us. We do all of them, on every job.
We design for payback
Most people go solar to save money, so payback is what we design for. We start from your bills and your daily usage and size the system from there. A system that fills the roof but exports most of its output is a worse buy than a smaller one sized right. We show you the payback sums before you commit.
Our quotes name the equipment
Manufacturer, model and rating for panels, inverter, mounting and battery. Vague phrases like “tier 1 panels” or “premium inverter” leave room to swap in something else later. You’ll know exactly what’s going on your roof before you sign.
Registrations you can check yourself
We’re an SEAI-registered Solar PV company and registered installer, a registered electrical contractor and a Solar Ireland member. You can look each one up on the relevant register.
The people who quote are the people who install
Our own team does the design, installation, commissioning and servicing, so you always know who’s responsible.
Local to the Midlands
Our office, stores and crews are in Blyry Business & Commercial Park, Athlone. So we can get to a survey quickly, and get back out to you quickly if something needs looking at years later.
We guide the grant
We confirm eligibility, walk you through the SEAI application, and handle the installer, grid-notification and completion documents. We also hold off on the installation until your offer letter is issued, because starting early is where valid claims most often get lost.
Still trading when the warranty matters
A thirty-year performance warranty depends on the company behind it. We've been installing solar since 2013, 13 years now, and we service systems put in by companies that are no longer around to do it.
We’ll tell you when the answer is no
If the roof is too shaded, the building uses too little power to justify the outlay, or a battery would never earn its cost back, we say so at the survey, before you’ve spent anything.
Comparison
What to watch for when comparing quotes
These are the things we see most often when customers show us other quotes they've received. We don't have any particular company in mind.
- Quotes a system size from a phone callSurveys the property before designing anything
- Describes equipment as “tier 1” or “premium”Names manufacturer, model and rating in the quote
- Presents a payback figure with no stated assumptionsShows the assumptions behind any projection
- Leaves you to figure the grant out aloneGuides your application and handles the installer, grid and completion documents
- Hard to reach once the invoice is paidServices the system for its full life, including systems we didn’t install
